Students in grades four, five and six at Wolcott Elementary participated in King Arthur Baking Company's Bake for Good program on Thursday, March 30. Using ingredients and some supplies donated by King Arthur Baking, students gathered together accomplishing three goals: learn, bake, and share. Students were exposed to the math and science of making bread from scratch by learning to read a recipe, measure accurately and mix, knead, shape, and bake two loaves of bread. Students kept one loaf and shared the other loaf with a younger student within the school who did not participate in the program. Each student also got to take home a King Arthur Baking recipe book and their own dough scraper to use for future bread making at home!
